Juanita Jean Matheny, 92, Oblong, IL. went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:42 am on Friday March 14, 2014 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL.
Juanita was born in Hardinville, IL. on July 28, 1921 and was the daughter of Brody Ira Bollinger and Ella Theo (Keenan) Bollinger. On June 4, 1939, she married Arthur Keith Nolan and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2004. Juanita married Ira S. Matheny on July 22, 1978 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1995.
Juanita was a member of the Robinson High School Class of 1939; member of First Christian Church, Oblong, IL. and Highland Church of Christ, Robinson, IL; worked as a church secretary at LeClaire Christian Church, Edwardsville, IL; switchboard operator at Crawford Memorial Hospital; volunteered as one of the “Pink Ladies” at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL; worked at Terry’s Flower Shop and the Index Store both in Oblong, IL. Juanita enjoyed drawing, painting, singing and reading her Bible.
Juanita is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Arthur Keith Nolan and Mary Jane Nolan II of Oblong, IL; daughter Rebecca “Becky” Stahl of Oblong, IL; three step-sons and two daughters-in-laws DeWayne Matheny of Ft. Worth, TX, Truman and Sharon Matheny, Hillsboro, OR. and Stanley and Beverly Matheny of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren Ed and Debbie Mikeworth III, Kelly and Gary McBride, Shelly and John Moore, Cynthia J. Haynes, Gina and Vincent Booker, Tanna and John Tardif, Lee Ann and Bob Smith and Angela and Donnie Nichols; sixteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and a very dear friend Etta McGuire.
Preceding Juanita in death were her parents; both husband; an infant son Michael Edwin Nolan; daughter Rita Mikeworth; great grandson Arthur Keith Nolan III and two brothers Gerald “Jerry” and Lyle Bollinger.
